Your Lavender BouquetPicking your lavender bouquet is a heavenly experience. Being out in the field. Inhaling the fresh lavender breezes. Finding just the right blooms. Ones you'll treasure. A lavender bouquet is a wonderful thing with a zillion uses. Display. Drying. Culinary, Crafts. Fragrance. Home keeping. For almost all these, a lavender bouqet can last for years if you neglect it!! Lavender wants to dry out. So when I pick a bouquet for a vase, I don't put water in. Just the lavender. It will retain most of its color; the stems will gray out. And it will be fine for years. If I'm drying it for other use, just secure the bouquet with a rubber band and hang it upside down.
The Ultimate PicnicIt's like a day in Provence! Dine al fresco at the edge of DayBreak's 2-acre pond! Or in the lavender field. Or find a secluded glen in the woodland area. Wherever you spread your blanket, you will enjoy a memorable family outing. Or a mega-romantic date … never to be forgotten! The lavender, blue skies, sunshine and a scent you'll never forget.
Explore All Of DaybreakThere's a lot more than lavender fields at DayBreak. There are over 5 miles of easy trails to stroll or hike, depending on the day, the temperature and your mood! Click here for a downloadable PDF file.

Learn To Grow From A Pro … Lavender That Is!At 2 o'clock, every day of the Lavender Season, Michael Slyker gives a talk on how to plant, grow, prune and harvest lavender. He knows and he shares his secrets for making lavender thrive in our North East Ohio climate.
Cece Miller came to DayBreak to play her dulcimer for the lavender. She's a retired gal. Drives a fire-engine red pick up. Always has her dulcimer in the passenger seat. And she sang Amazing Grace, Go Tell Aunt Rhody and some great hymns. The lavender's had a tough year, so it was lovely. Cece was taught by Tina Bergmann's mom and if you love hammered dulcimer, you KNOW TB!! A memorable moment on one lucky lavender farm!! And if you play an instrument, the lavender would love to hear you too!!
