Celebrating The Summer Solstice June 21, 2008
Summer Solstice, sometimes known as Midsummer, Litha, or St. John's Day, occurs in the middle of June. It is a celebration of the longest day of the year and the beginning of Summer. It has been a grand tribal gathering time since ancient times. The Goddess manifests as Mother Earth and the God as the Sun King. Colors are Yellow, Green, and Blue. It is a festival of community sharing and planetary service.
We'll be celebrating the Solstice time. We'll keep a Sacred Fire Ring burning throughout the day. We encourage all to make a pledge to Mother Earth of something that you will do to improve the environment and then begin carrying it out. Have a magical gift exchange with friends. Exchange songs, chants, and stories around the fire. And maybe even do a little dancing to drums around the blazing bonfire.
With their annual Lavender harvest, DayBreak co-founders Jody Byrne and Michael Slyker create and sell a wide variety of unique herbal and botanical soaps and toiletries all stemming from a very special love for lavender. Afficionado's of DayBreak's products love to see the new and the lates so, The Festival will house the largest single display of DayBreak products anywhere! In addition, attendees will enjoy ...
Festival visitors will enjoy the opportunity to pick their own lavender bouquets, sign up for hands-on lavender craft workshops, cold-climate lavender growing and cultivation seminars, several varieties of lavender for sale, the popular DayBreak soaps and new gourmet lavender products in the DayBreak Gourmet Pavillion.
